The launch of the Celebrity Cricket League Season 3 in partnership with Star Network on December 19, at Novotel, saw Bipasha Basu being announced as the CCL brand ambassador. Also present were team Mumbai Heroes owner Sohail Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh, owner of Veer Marathas, a new team introduced this year, and Ashok Kenny, owner of Karnataka Bulldozers. Founder of the League, Vishnu Induri, asserted, “Our average TRPs of 6.7 and TVR rating of 16 is far higher than any international cricket match. Our format combines drama and sport perfectly. With two new teams on the field – Bhojpuri Dabanggs and Veer Marathas, thisseason will not be restricted to the South, but will have a pan-India reach with Star.” After two years with CCL, Salman Khan will be the face of  Mumbai Heroes. “Both Salman and I have wanted to be Sunil Gavaskars even before we decided to become actors. But due to his injuries, Salman is not allowed to played an open sport like cricket,” says brother Sohail, admitting that it’s good to have him around because in Season 2, Mumbai Heroes lost every match they played, but partied the hardest.
