Reema Lagoo passed away

Veteran actress Reema Lagoo, known for her performance in movies like Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Kal Ho Na Ho, died of a cardiac arrest in the wee hours of Thursday at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.  She was 59.

Lagoo was admitted to the hospital late on Wednesday night after she complained of chest pain, the hospital’s Executive Director Ram Naraian told PTI.

Lagoo’s son-in-law Vinay Waikul said, “She complained of chest pain so we took her to the hospital around 1 am. She passed away around 3.15 am.

The actress, who is receiving accolades for portraying Meera in Zee Marathi's Mala Sasu Havi and had earlier acted in shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain is on cloud nine these days and why not? The actress has all the reasons to smile.
Sources say, "On 11th of August, 2013, Deepti got engaged to Amogh Waman Desai, who is an architect-interior designer. It was a very private and personal ceremony, where only few close friends and relatives were invited."
Source further goes on, "Only after matching Deepti and Amogh's horoscope, the respective families agreed on the relationship. Amogh is the only son and stays at Dadar."
We too hear that Deepti and Amogh are expected to tie their knot on 26th of December, 2013 at Pune and their reception party will be followed in Mumbai.
When contacted, Deepti merrily confirmed, "Yes, I got engaged on 11th of August to Amogh Desai. He is a very lovable and mature person and we are going to get married on 26th of December this year. Its not a love marriage but arrange one."

ज्येष्ठ नाट्यनिर्माते सुधीर भट यांचे निधन

सुयोग नाट्यसंस्थेचे सर्वेसर्वा, ज्येष्ठ नाट्यनिर्माते सुधीर भट यांचे ह्रदयविकाराच्या तीव्र धक्क्याने निधन झाले. छातीत दुखत असल्यामुळे त्यांना हिंदुजा हॉस्पिटलमध्ये नेण्यात आले होते. तिथेच उपचारादरम्यान त्यांचे रात्री १०.३०च्या सुमारास निधन झाले. त्यांच्या पश्चात पत्नी आणि मुलगा आहे.

नाट्यनिर्माता संघाचा अध्यक्ष, नाटकांच्या तारखा आणि तिकीविक्री या विषयावर स्वतःची मते ठामपणे मांडणारा निर्माता म्हणून सुधीर भट यांची विशेष ओळख होती. त्यांनी गोपाळ अलगेरी यांच्या साथीने सुयोग या नाट्यसंस्थेची एक जानेवारी १९८५ मध्ये स्थापना केली. या संस्थेच्या माध्यमातून आतापर्यंत ८० पेक्षा जास्त नाटके, १६ हजाराहून अधिक प्रयोग आणि हजार प्रयोगांचा टप्पा ओलांडणाऱ्या आठ नाटकांची निर्मिती त्यांनी केली. तारखा वाटपात प्रचंड उलाढाल करणारा वादग्रस्त निर्माता म्हणून भट चर्चेत राहिले. त्यांनी धंद्याची वाट लावली, अशी त्यांच्यावर टीका झाली. पण एवढ्या वर्षांत सर्व प्रकारची टीका झेलत सुधीर भटांनी व्यवसायात स्वत:चे असे वेगळे स्थान निर्माण केले. देशा-विदेशात मराठी नाटकांचे प्रयोग करण्यासाठी सुधीर भट यांनी बरीच धडपड केली. त्यांच्या अनेक गाजलेल्या नाटकांना युरोप, अमेरिकेतही उत्तम प्रतिसाद मिळाला आहे.

मराठी नाट्यसृष्टीच्या पडत्या काळात १९९७-९८ च्या सुमारास अमेरिकेत नाटकांचे प्रयोग करुन त्यांनी नाट्यसृष्टीला उर्जितावस्थेत आणले. निर्माता या नात्याने त्यांनी हलक्या-फुलक्या नाटकांपासून गंभीर विषयावरील नाटकांपर्यंत सर्व प्रकार हाताळले. नाट्यनिर्मितीत प्रयोग करणे, नाट्यप्रयोगांचे विक्रम करणे अशा अभिनव उपक्रमांव्दारे त्यांनी मराठी नाट्यसृष्टीला नव्या उंचीवर नेऊन ठेवले.

उच्च निर्मितीमूल्य, चांगले मार्केटिंग यांच्या जोरावर त्यांची नाटके गाजली. त्याचवेळी काही नाटकांना अपयश आल्यामुळे सुयोगला मोठा आर्थिक फटकाही बसला. मात्र अखेरपर्यंत उत्साहाने नाट्यनिर्मिती करण्याचे व्रत त्यांनी कायम ठेवले. नाट्यसंस्थेच्या माध्यमातून त्यांनी प्रशांत दामले, विजय चव्हाण अशा अनेक गुणी कलाकरांना मोठे केले. प्रशांत दामले यांनी स्वतःची नाट्यसंस्था सुरू केली त्यावेळी आणखी एक मराठी नाट्यनिर्माता येतोय म्हणून आनंदाने स्वागत करणा-यांमध्येही ते पुढे होते. सध्या ते बेईमान या नाटकाची निर्मिती करण्यात गुंतले होते. येत्या २४ तारखेला हे नाटक सुरू होणार आहे.

सुधीर भट यांच्यावर शनिवारी दुपारी अंत्यसंस्कार करण्यात येतील. अंत्यदर्शानासाठी पार्थिव सकाळी दादरच्या यशवंत नाट्यमंदिर येथे ठेवणार असल्याची माहिती निकटवर्तीयांनी दिली.
